Executive Officer




£28K to £33K per annum


This post is a full-time permanent appointment

Key responsibilities include

This is a wide-ranging role includes the provision of executive assistance to the Chief Executive, responsibility for some HR-related functions, support for Boards and Committees and office management duties. More specifically these will include:

  • Diary and inbox management for the CEO handling matters on her behalf where appropriate and when necessary assisting other members of the senior team.
  • Support for and participation in Senior Management Team meetings including scheduling, agenda preparation and minute taking.
  • Work with the Communications and Marketing Manager on the organisation of annual events.
  • Taking charge of office management, liaising with suppliers and ensuring the office facilities are functioning and fit for purpose.
  • Liaising with staff on financial matters including management accounts, expenses, credit cards, petty cash.
  • Maintenance of HR records, scheduling of annual PRD process and maintenance of training records.
  • Executive support for Council, Trust Board and Finance and Executive Committee, including maintaining member listings, preparation of papers, minute taking and ensuring the return of members’ declarations of interests etc.

This is a role that requires the job holder to have experience of:

  • providing executive assistance at a senior level
  • working in a wide-ranging role requiring flexibility and adaptability
  • working with a range of internal staff, customers and stakeholders at all levels

As well as strong skills in:

  • MS Office
  • Planning and organisation with the ability to work independently and to deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


  • A good understanding of how companies work and the role of Councils, Boards and Committees
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Readiness to undertake visits and travel as required
