The German Language Society is honoured to present a prominent German author Mario Giordiano. His work has been published worldwide and translated in many languages.

Mario will explain his experience writing novels, books for children and screenplays. What makes a relationship between the author and translator special and what needs to be avoided?

We will review Mario Giordano's work: Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions / Tante Poldi und die sizilianischen Löwen. Der erste Teil.

Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions is his first novel translated into English, was an IndieNext Pick, a B&N Discover Selection, an Amazon Top Ten Best Books  of the Month, and a Costco Staff Pick

John Maxwell Brownjohn (April 1929 - January 2020) translated Mario’s first novel into English. The novel was also translated into Polish, Latvian, Dutch, Italian, French, Czech. And maybe there is a chance for you to translate it as well?
