Making Tax Digital – MTD

At the March 2015 Budget, the UK government set out its vision for a reformed tax system which sees the end of the tax return as we know it. Making Tax Digital is a major change in the way individuals and businesses, including freelancers and sole-traders interact with HMRC.

To help CIOL members understand the implications for the freelance linguist, in conjunction with eCPD Webinars and Russell New, we have arranged a free webinar on the new digital tax regularions.

While there is still much to be finalised on exactly how MTD will look, HMRC have made it clear there will no delays in the stated implementation timetable.

Transition to a digitally based tax reporting system will therefore start in 2018.

This webinar will look at where we are with MTD now, what further developments are likely between now and the introduction of MTD and will discuss in practical, straight-forward language what the introduction of MTD means for the small business.

There will also be an opportunity for questions from attendees.

A recording of this webinar will be available to registered attendees on 7 April on the eCPD Webinar website.

The speaker is Charlie Owen, a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser.

Please note the information in the webinar is relevant to UK-based members only.
