Statement: An established chartered linguist, Isabel has extensive experience as a UN translator, reviser and terminologist, having worked full-time for the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a UN agency in London, and the BBC World Service. As a language practitioner, she has worked in many language-related fields: documentary, literary and technical translation; lexicography and terminology; journalism and writing; broadcasting and scriptwriting; language technologies; tutoring in writing and translation; and voice-over work (member of Equity). Isabel is also a professional writer, writing both fiction and poetry. She mostly writes in English, but she has also published books in Spanish. Her website is www.isabeldelrio.com.
