Statement: Philippa Dearns is a translator/proofreader and founding partner of Dearns & Browne Translations, specialising in medical and pharmaceutical texts. She has been working in the language industry since 2002, both in Italy and the UK.
Between 2007 and 2010 Philippa managed a UK-based translation agency, specialising in clinical trial, patent and trade mark documentation. Her role involved translation, proofreading, quotation and budgeting, quality assurance and the certification of translations.
Philippa successfully passed her MA in Applied Translation Studies with merit from Leeds University in 2011. Philippa now teaches part-time at the university, including undergraduate and postgraduate modules in translation studies.
