Statement: Luisa Fernández Sierra earned her translation qualification from the Chartered Institute of Linguists in 1995. She is member of Tremédica, Acett, and CIOL. She started working as a professional translator in the late 1980s. She has over 20 years' experience in editing, postediting, and translation for the life science sector. Her approach to translation has always been shaped by psycholinguistics and social psychology, so meeting the new demand for transcreation and culturally adapted translation services has been a natural step in her career. For several years, she has been providing mentoring for translators (English to Spanish) in the Medical and Pharmaceutical Network of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, UK.
