Professor of Translation, School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies
Jo is Professor of Translation and based in the School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies at UEA in Norwich. She is co-Chair of the cross-faculty Ethics Forum, and a member of the Translating, Interpreting and Border-Crossing research group, the Migration Research Network, and the Qualitative Research Methods Forum. She currently leads the Transnational Organised Crime and Translation research project (TOCAT), co-funded by the ESRC and AHRC and has recently been involved in a ground breaking multi-disciplinary research project, the remit for which was to establish good practice and collaboration between professionals working in police settings

Company owner and Managing Director, Simon Smith is a former police detective, qualified trainer/assessor and owner of three successful companies. He has an extensive background in Business and Law and a 1st class Degree from Sunderland School of Business and law. He has 24 years’ experience as a Police Detective in Serious/Major crime investigation and over 10 years training experience, much of that with interpreters working within police and court settings. Zakon delivers training across many sectors and has particular expertise in criminal investigation training across a number of agencies.
