Event report
The evening at Galgos was a great success, with seven linguists enjoying the authentic Venezuelan food and Latin American vibe of the restaurant - made even more authentic due to the hot weather!
Some of us were teachers, one of whom was beginning to work in translation, and some of us translators, so we were able to share experiences and swap advice, such as how to build up a specialism as a translator and which local accountants deal with clients paid in euros!
The languages we used professionally included Japanese, French, German and Spanish.
The evening ended with plans to meet again for socialising and conversation in languages we don’t often get the chance to use.
