An introduction to voiceover

Why voiceover might work for you as a language professional and how it can help you achieve a more balanced lifestyle

Join the Gloucestershire Network on Zoom for a talk by Elena Jiménez Alvarez about why voiceover might work for you as a language professional and how it can help you achieve a more balanced lifestyle.

Elena is a Mexican translator, voiceover artist, and work-life balance coach. Her voice has been used in international campaigns for clients such as Apple and Google and is frequently booked for e-learning projects which she records from her professional home studio in the UK.

In this talk we will explore how the voiceover industry works, what genres are in the highest demand, how to get started if you want to become a professional voiceover artist, and what key skills you need to have before offering your voiceover services. You will also understand how professional voiceover services are charged differently to translation services.

This talk will give you an insight into the voiceover world through the eyes of a voiceover artist and language professional who is passionate about helping people to enjoy more balanced lifestyles whilst doing what they love, getting paid properly for it, and upholding industry standards.
