Statement: Paul Bishop holds the IoLET Diploma in Translation and offers translaton and language specialist services. He has been teaching and researching German since 1994 and is currently William Jacks Chair of Modern Languages at the University of Glasgow. In this capacity he has a remit to pursue languages “principally for commercial education” and he engages with a wide range of stakeholders, including the Scottish Government’s Employer Engagement Group for languages and the Economic Development Association Scotland. He has written and edited widely in the fields of intellectual history and intercultural studies.
