Statement: I have been a full-time freelance translator, working from Spanish, Catalan and French to English, since 2002, when I completed the MA in technical translation at the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) in Tarragona; I in fact went on to teach on the URV postgraduate translation courses for three years. I started out as a professional translator within the language service cooperative SLP B2B, which I helped to set up, before going freelance. In 2010, with the idea of working internationally, I did the Chartered Institute of Linguists Diploma in Translation, gaining merits in all three parts of the examination. As well as CIOL, I am a member of APTIC, the Catalan professional association of translators and interpreters.
