Statement: My knowledge of Russian springs from a passion for the language.
My work has centered on the insurance sector of the post Soviet states. Initially I was a journalist, interpreter and translator for a publication of the Financial Times group. Later I took a more active role through my work with an insurance and reinsurance broker in the region helping the ground-breaking professionals in the fledgling insurance industry of the CIS and the London markets to design products for the new economies, and the vocabulary to match.
Since moving to Scotland I have continued translating legal and insurance texts, while my interpreting efforts have become more closely connected to the arts and humanities and, lately, refugee support work.
