Statement: I have been translating since 1984 and specialise particularly in environmental and life sciences, although I also have experience in many other scientific and non-scientific fields. My working (source) languages are Portuguese, Spanish, Catalan, French and Italian. My most substantial published work is the translation from Portuguese of Pedro Páez's History of Ethoiopia, 1622 (Hakluyt Society, 2011). I also hold a PhD in Zoology and am an active researcher in mammalian evolution and systematics, as well as zooarchaeology.
