Statement: I hold BA (Hons) French and German, MA German, DipTrans IoLET with merits in Business and Science, and Diploma in Interpreting with merit. I specialize in translating German to English, in the areas Marketing, Tourism, Arts, Education and Deafness. I have had 3 years' in-house translating and liaison interpreting experience in a medical company. I have taught French and German to children, German to adults at the Open University, and I have taught deaf children ages 2 to 16. In March 2012 I won the European Commission's Leopoldo Costa Prize for the best speech written by a translator/interpreter, and I presented this speech at the DG-Interpretation-Universities Annual Conference in Brussels. The subject of my speech was Translation.
