Statement: I work full-time as a translator and can comfortably translate 3,500 words per day. I translate mostly in the fields of law and medicine; however, I also have extensive experience with technical, business and marketing texts for international and multinational companies.
I consider not only the purpose and function of each text but also the intended audience in order to fulfil and meet the desired effect of the translation. I employ thorough background research into the subject matter and make use of TM software and CAT tools to ensure consistency of terminology and register.
Some of my recent work includes the translation of a book on the history of medicine from Italian to English. The first volume of which is soon to be published.
