Statement: I hold a Masters degree in Modern Languages (French) and English from Oxford University (M.A.(Oxon)), as well as the Level 7 Diploma in Translation (DipTrans) from the UK’s Chartered Institute of Linguists, the gold standard in professional translation. Modern Languages at Oxford, which has the teaching of advanced translation at its core, is ranked top in the world in the QS world university rankings. I am a trained barrister and also have professional accountancy and investment qualifications. After a career of more than 25 years working in business, finance and the law, during which time I regularly provided an in-house translation service, I became a feelance legal, financial and literary translator in 2020.
