Statement: I have been a full-time translator, interpreter and lecturer since 1990, both in the UK and Spain. After becoming an Intérprete Jurado (sworn public translator and interpreter) in 1991, I specialised in the legal and financial fields. Later on I expanded my areas of expertise to encompass IT, patents, engineering, marketing, tourism and journalism. As in-house translator I have worked for the European Union CORDIS project and SDL International (Spanish Line Manager) and as a lecturer I have taught at City University (Legal Translation MA and Translating Popular Culture MA) and prepared candidates for the DPSI (Law) and DipTrans examinations.
